Sustainability for Deerberg means considering environmental, social and economic factors in all our trading and operations. It means breaking new ground and pursuing a new path.

Protecting our environment – sustainability

FSC paper: Our catalogues are printed on FSC-certified paper. The FSC logo shows that the timber products come from sustainable forestry or companies that protect forests.
Hydropower electricity: Our electricity supplier NaturEnergie AG has always been a supporter of hydropower as an energy source because it is emission-free and does not require many resources. We chose this supplier because we want to treat nature and the environment in a sustainable and responsible way.
GoGreen transport – DHL: Together with DHL, we are utilising the opportunity to play our part in the fight against climate change and leave behind a healthy environment for future generations. With DHL we know for sure that our packages will arrive safely, and by using carbon-neutral transportation with DHL GoGreen, we are making a contribution towards climate protection.
Latest projects: 2011 will see the complete changeover of the company’s vehicle fleet to electric cars. What’s more, we will be building solar-powered electric service stations at all sites on Lüneburg Heath.

Social standards at Deerberg

We take seriously the responsibility for the effects of our business operations in the manufacture of the products we sell and services we offer. That’s why we ensure our suppliers keep to minimum social standards. Our aim is to educate our suppliers and provide humane and dignified social standards. We set an example at our company and want to use our success to show that this way is practicable for many other companies.

Lindgren Hus

We consider it a great responsibility to train our apprentices and want to provide our trainees with the appropriate support. For this reason, we founded the Lindgren Hus in 2009, a company that is run by apprentices. The Lindgren Hus is situated next to our premises in Velgen. Here, there are decorative items for the bedroom and living room, and beautiful objects for the bathroom and kitchen. Our apprentices take on the task of buying and selling, decorating the shop and keeping accounts. Our apprentices do all the work together, which increases teamwork as well as personal responsibility. You can find out more about the Lindgren Hus on the website.

Work & Family audit

We support and assist our employees and treat them with trust, respect, honesty and appreciation. By intensively networking and regularly communicating within Deerberg, we want to promote cooperation across teams and projects and invite our employees to get actively involved with the shaping of the company. Assisting and qualifying employees individually is a crucial factor in the competitiveness of Deerberg.

Our company offers flexible working hours, a utility room, childcare in the holidays and a keep-in-touch programme for employees on parental leave. This has led to our being awarded the Work & Family audit.

Lillebror

We want to give help where none exists. When setting up the Deerberg-Lillebror-Fund, we made a conscious decision to do something for the children in our own region.
